What is Cypress Mulch?

Cypress mulch is made from pond cypress trees and bald cypress trees. Both the bark of the tree and the wood are ground up to make cypress mulch. As cypress mulch decomposes, it adds nutrients to the soil; it does not change the soil’s pH level as it decomposes.

If a light colored, fine textured mulch is what you want, cypress mulch will provide the qualities you are looking for.

Therefore, this product is 100% cypress (no hardwoods are mixed in).

Cypress chips come from the same mill that provides our cypress shreds and is 100% cypress tree material. This product is the white wood of the cypress tree and is bark free.

Because cypress wood is porous, soft, long lasting and dries out quickly, it is considered by many as the premier play area material.
