How to use Product Calculators
So-you've finally decided that it's time to start that project you've been thinking over for weeks and weeks now. Exciting, right?
You're on your way to purchase the products you need when you realize, “Shoot! How much of this stuff do I even need?!”
We have come up with an awesome tool for DIYers and contractors alike that we hope will make your life easier. Conveniently located on our website, you can access our Product Calculators at home or anywhere else on your computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
when to use the Bulk Calculator
For projects such as putting mulch down in a flower bed or creating a gravel patio, you would use the “Bulk Product” calculator.
This entails any of our products that we sell in bulk. All you need is to measure the length and width of the area you'll be working on and the depth you will be laying the product.
Type these measurements in, press calculate and voila! You now know how much product you need.
The next few calculators work very similar to the first one.
Thinking about top dressing your lawn?
If this is your first time sanding your lawn, just do a thin application. Use our top dressing calculator to find out exactly how much you need.
when to use Stone Calculators
Tackling a hardscape is a little more complicated than spreading a bulk product. Projects that need multiple products means more calculations and measurements. We've got you covered-our calculators will do that for you.
There are four calculators to choose from if you are using flagstone or other natural stones, veneers, or cultured stones.
You can use the thin flagstone calculator only when you have an existing slab of concrete to go over.
If you're using a crushed stone base, we recommend the medium flagstone calculator, but you could use the thick flagstone calculator as well.
You can dry-lay flagstone over a crushed stone base only if the top of the patio is level with the ground.
If the top of your patio is raised above ground level, we recommend using mortar over a crushed stone base.
Once you've identified which calculator is right for your project, find the total square feet of your area by multiplying the length by the width.
Enter this information into the calculators and we will tell you exactly which and how much products you will need.
Adding a retaining wall or paver patio to your backyard?
Check out the calculators for these projects.
If you want to add a stair way using natural stone, use our stair treads calculator.
Simply enter in the rise (distance from bottom to top) and the run (distance from beginning to end) and it will tell you how many stair treads you'll need and how thick each one should be.
Ready to find out how much you really need?
We hope this makes your landscaping projects easier; whether you're a DIYer or a contractor- we are here to help!
